Upcoming Drops: Feb. 28 – March 6

Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.

Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, as we’ll be coming up with a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss.

The Thiiird

Who: Sean Williams

What: Open editions

Why: Sean Williams is an illustrator, animator, and designer who has continued to turn heads in the NFT space with his unique, colorful, sometimes abstract style. For his third drop on the NG platform, Williams is offering up 11 new pieces as open editions, as well as an airdrop to his previous collectors.

Who: Francois Berthoud

What: NFTs with physical counterparts

Why: Hype NFT is a new drop from Francois Berthoud in collaboration with Italian luxury brand Bulgari and photography, fashion, and fine art gallery Fondazione Sozzani. Aiming to explore the boundaries of visual imagination, Berthoud has created this collection of NFTs, each of which is accompanied by the physical piece/object that inspired it.

Why: Jon Noorlander is a Swedish multidisciplinary artist who has worn numerous hats throughout his two-decade-long career. For his latest NG drop, Noorlander has created nine new pieces featuring unique, ethereal humanoid characters.

Why: Jerkface is an NYC street-artist turned gallery-artist by way of Christie’s. With his first-ever NFT drop, Jerkface will present four edition pieces featuring his unique, colorful, pop-culture-inspired style. Keep an eye on his Instagram for more info to come.

Who: Josie Bellini

What: 10,001 avatar collectibles

Why: From crypto-art OG Josie comes CyberBrokers: a new PFP collection of unique and fully on-chain avatar collectibles. Each piece within the CyberBrokers collection will provide membership and access to different kinds of metaverse experiences as well as a 1/1 generative piece of art from Josie.

What: Looping video NFTs

Why: For over 20 years Federico Solmi has been utilizing bright colors and a satirical aesthetic to portray a dystopian vision of our present-day society. With his latest drop, Solmi was inspired by traditional cinematic techniques used in silent films and created looping video NFTs of characters dressed in an eccentric range of historical costumes.

Why: Multi-faceted artist Gregory Siff has become well known for his highly emotive style that merges abstraction, pop, and action painting. With his latest collection, Siff offers up a visual ethnographic journal created from icons and abstract gestures.

Why: 3LAU has tapped up-and-coming Canadian rapper Ollie for the latest drop on Royal. The collection will feature three tiers of NFTs which will grant streaming royalty ownership to collectors as LDAs (Limited Digital Assets, a.k.a royalty-bearing NFTs).

Who: Ivan Dianov

What: 1,000 generative NFTs

Why: Click is a forthcoming project from generative artist Ivan Dianov. Dianov says he was inspired by Dmitri Cherniak’s Ringers and endeavored to create unique sculptures made of blocks clicked that feature endless combinations, funny characters, and his own passion for cubes, voxels, and modular systems.

Bobu

Who: Azuki

What: 20,000 fractional NFTs

Where: Azuki.com

Why: Azuki #40 (Bobu) is set to be deposited into a Fractional.art vault to be fractionalized and resold to create group ownership of the original NFT. This will be the first experiment in fractionalized IP governance over a core character in the Azuki universe.
