Yuga Labs Announces ‘HV-MTL Forge’ to Begin in June

Things are once again heating within the Yuga Labs NFT ecosystem — and this time, it all has to do with HV-MTL. Launched in March 2023, the Bored Ape-adjacent NFT collection has already gained significant traction in Web3 and is about to undergo a major evolution.

Billed as one of the “final” stops in the still-evolving, multi-part MDvMM.xyz saga, information about HV-MTL has slowly been unveiled over time. But now, we know that all 30,000 HV-MTL mech NFTs will soon become interactive, as Yuga has announced season one of the “HV-MTL Forge.”

What to know about the HV-MTL Forge

Announced via Twitter, season one of the HV-MTL Forge event is set to kick off on June 29. Users have been speculating for some time about the utility of their Sewer Pass earned NFTs. Now it’s clear that, similar to Otherside and Kodas, HV-MTL will exist in a comprehensive gamified metaverse of their own.

Billed with the tagline “Build. Flex. Fight. Evolve.” the forge event will usher in a new era of gamified experiences for the HV-MTL ecosystem. It all starts at the end of June when HV-MTL NFT holders will gain the ability to begin building in-game homes for their HV characters.

From there, a system for users to “flex” their forges will be unlocked, establishing a competitive, tier-ranked system where players can vote on and compete for votes to secure the number one spot. By participating in the system, HV-MTL holders will be able to unlock upgrades and prepare themselves for in-game world events to come.

“In HV-MTL Forge: build and customize a workshop that prepares your HVs for their evolution. Show off your creations to climb the leaderboard and unlock special abilities,” reads the official HV-MTL website. “Take risks and face the dangers of the rift to discover blueprints, gather materials, and craft upgrades.”

In true Yuga fashion, collectors will have to wait until the forge event gets closer to learn how to access all the exciting new HV-MTL features. If the festivities are anything akin to that of an Otherside “trip,” users are definitely in for a ride.
