Deadfellaz Taps Unity to Create New Digital Trading Card Game https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/deadfellaz-taps-unity-to-create-new-digital-trading-card-game/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/deadfellaz-taps-unity-to-create-new-digital-trading-card-game/#respond Fri, 08 Sep 2023 17:17:54 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/deadfellaz-taps-unity-to-create-new-digital-trading-card-game/

DFZ Labs, the creative force behind the popular Deadfellaz brand, unveiled its latest gaming project in development with Unity on September 8.

The new project, a digital trading card game (TCG), is currently being developed alongside a team of Unity developers. The game is set to expand Deadfellaz’s “undead” universe and reshape TCG gameplay for users through animation and music.

“Psych & I both believe TCG gaming is in need of a serious upgrade when it comes to gameplay, animation, music, and the overall experience of playing and collecting – and with Unity, we finally have the perfect collaboration to achieve what we envision. Ultimately, we see this game as an opportunity to stretch the limits of what culture and gaming can converge into,” said Betty, CEO of DFZ Labs.

The game is currently coded under the title “RIP TCG,” however, the actual title and trailer will be revealed at a later date.

Development is already underway, and eager players can anticipate an early release in Q1 2024. The Deadfellaz community will play an essential role in the game’s early stages, with exclusive early access granted to the undead community.

The initial pre-access sale for the game is scheduled for Friday, September 8th.

“We can’t overstate how powerful it is to have Unity collaborating on this game with us. Our game plan includes an entirely new level of action and immersion for the TCG genre; and there is no one better equipped to take on that task than Unity,” said Psych, Lead Artist and co-Founder of DFZ Labs.

As avid gamers themselves, Betty and Psych, along with the DFZ team, have been actively integrating tools and experiences to introduce the Deadfellaz brand to the gaming world. Their recent endeavors include “Streamingfellaz,” an extension of their IP that enables collectors to live stream as their PFP character, complete with motion tracking and emotions. DFZ also formed the DFZ Twitch Team, demonstrating their commitment to supporting gamers within the community.

OnChainMonkey Migrates Genesis Collection to Bitcoin, Spends Over $1M  https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/onchainmonkey-migrates-genesis-collection-to-bitcoin-spends-over-1m/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/onchainmonkey-migrates-genesis-collection-to-bitcoin-spends-over-1m/#respond Thu, 07 Sep 2023 16:27:07 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/onchainmonkey-migrates-genesis-collection-to-bitcoin-spends-over-1m/

Metagood, the company behind the popular NFT collection OnChainMonkey (OCM), is breaking new ground in the crypto world by migrating its 10,000-strong NFT collection, OCM Genesis, from Ethereum to Bitcoin’s blockchain.

The decision to shift the OCM Genesis collection to Bitcoin was not taken lightly, given it also carried a hefty price tag of $1 million, according to a press release shared with nft now.

Launched in September 2021, OCM debuted its Genesis Collection through a free mint, comprising 10,000 monkey PFPs. The project is best known for having uploaded its entire NFT collection to Ethereum in a single transaction.

And now, it’s doing it again in one big swoop – migrating it over to the Bitcoin network.

Subsidizing Migration Costs

The OCM DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) proposed subsidizing the migration’s substantial cost, making it free for all OCM Genesis NFT holders with a Bitcoin Badge. This “Bitcoin Badge” had been awarded to OCM holders who had actively participated in missions over the course of a year.

The DAO proposal received overwhelming support, with over 4,700 votes cast in favor, making it the highest number of votes (2,000 votes) any DAO proposal has received within 24 hours since OCM’s DAO inception in 2021.

With almost unanimous support, the proposal reportedly had 99% of voters supporting Genesis’s migration from Ethereum to Bitcoin.

Metagood’s leadership team, which proposed the migration and wrote the DAO proposal, played a crucial role in educating the OCM community about Bitcoin Ordinals and the technical developments of Recursive Inscriptions, a technology integral to the migration.

While the community subsidy covers a significant portion of the migration costs, approximately $570,787 worth of ETH (at current prices), Metagood is shouldering the remaining expenses, totaling around $1 million.

“This migration is a monumental milestone for our OCM Community and a first-of-its-kind migration and upgrade for a 10K collection,” explained Danny Yang, CEO and co-founder of Metagood and creator of the OCM Genesis Collection. The move signifies a significant technological advancement in the NFT space and highlights the community’s unwavering faith in Bitcoin.

The OCM Genesis Collection is poised for innovation as it migrates to Bitcoin’s blockchain. These NFTs will be on Block 9 Satoshis (sats), the smallest unit of Bitcoin, known for its exceptional divisibility. The Genesis collection will align sequentially with the sats, offering a clear and verifiable provenance on Bitcoin while preserving its origin on Ethereum.

“In the past, other projects have been paid substantial amounts to move to another blockchain. We are doing the opposite. We are so convinced in our move that we are spending more than $1 million of our own resources to make the move to Bitcoin in an important and innovative way,” Yang emphasized.

Check out these other projects currently offering Bitcoin Ordinals collections.

Yuga Labs Offers Bitcoin Prizes In Ordinal Puzzle Series https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/yuga-labs-offers-bitcoin-prizes-in-ordinal-puzzle-series/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/yuga-labs-offers-bitcoin-prizes-in-ordinal-puzzle-series/#respond Wed, 06 Sep 2023 17:12:47 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/yuga-labs-offers-bitcoin-prizes-in-ordinal-puzzle-series/

Yuga Labs, the parent company of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), unveiled a 13-week cipher puzzle series on September 5th centered around their TwelveFold Bitcoin NFT collection, aiming to reignite interest in Bitcoin Ordinals Inscriptions.

The TwelveFold collection, introduced in February, is a generative art series consisting of 300 unique pieces, artfully crafted on a 12×12 grid. Now, Yuga Labs is set to challenge the community with an engaging puzzle series spanning 13 weeks.

Accessing the Puzzles

The first puzzle, which can be accessed here, has already been solved, according to the official website. The provided clue – “Having two together during hibernation can make all the difference” – featured six images of what appeared to be Twelvefold ordinals.

One participant, who goes by the X (formerly Twitter ) username @subvert_nft, indicated he solved the puzzle but didn’t do it in time.

The Rules

You Need a Bitcoin Ordinals Wallet

Users who want to participate in the 13-week puzzle series must have a Bitcoin ordinals wallet.

Submitting an Answer

For the first 12 weeks, Yuga Labs will release a Moon Puzzle each week, with an approximate $3,000 USD reward (approx. 0.12 BTC) given to the user who solves the puzzle the fastest.

To submit an answer, participants must go to the puzzle page and select a puzzle that has not been resolved. Once you have all the information filled out, you can inscribe your answer by clicking the “inscribe my answer” button, as stated on the official website.

Before it’s inscribed, however, participants must pay a fee of $4 USD to $8 USD, depending on network traffic. Once an answer is submitted, it will subsequently be inscribed on “satoshis” – Bitcoin’s smallest unit of account. This could take anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours to process.

Since there can only be one winner per puzzle, according to Yuga, in the event two people submit the right answer in the same Bitcoin block, the user whose answer has the lower inscription number will win.

The grand finale awaits on the thirteenth week when the last puzzle drops and the fastest solver will be rewarded with an undisclosed Twelvefold ordinal.

Claiming Prizes

To claim a prize, Yuga has a few tax forms for winners to fill out. More information can be found in the Terms and Conditions section of the official website.

Bright Moments, Gotham to Host Live Minting of Nicole Vella’s “If You Could Do It All Again” https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/bright-moments-gotham-to-host-live-minting-of-nicole-vellas-if-you-could-do-it-all-again/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/bright-moments-gotham-to-host-live-minting-of-nicole-vellas-if-you-could-do-it-all-again/#respond Thu, 24 Aug 2023 20:18:48 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/bright-moments-gotham-to-host-live-minting-of-nicole-vellas-if-you-could-do-it-all-again/

New York City’s groundbreaking cultural and cannabis concept store, Gotham, is gearing up for the final installment of its vibrant digital generative art series, collaborating with the renowned digital art gallery Bright Moments.

The upcoming event, titled ‘If You Could Do It All Again,’ will feature the creative ingenuity of Gotham’s Artist in Residence for the month, Nicole Vella.

Vella’s unique artistic exploration delves into the nuanced notion of time’s relentless forward motion, while also contemplating its seemingly elusive ability to pause. ‘If You Could Do It All Again’ proposes an intriguing concept of cyclical time, suggesting that our lives are intricately woven within loops of experience.

The collection, a mesmerizing 2D grid of colors, expertly manipulated, reflected, and diffused through a rotating glass-like 3-D structure, encapsulates this philosophical musing.

Credit: Nicole Vella

With a penchant for installations that challenge how audiences perceive reality, Vella’s work often contemplates technology’s influence on the human experience. This latest collection, showcased at Gotham, is a testament to her continued dedication to pushing artistic boundaries.

Gotham, in addition to its artistic endeavors, offers a selection of premium cannabis products, branded items, fashion pieces, and lifestyle products. This diverse range of offerings is complemented by a commitment to meaningful change.

Setting itself apart from just any cannabis concept store, Gotham partnered with STRIVE, an organization dedicated to harnessing the power of education, jobs, and opportunities for individuals previously incarcerated for marijuana offenses.

Bright Moments, the pioneering NFT Art Gallery that originally emerged in Venice Beach, has gained international acclaim for its live IRL minting experiences, best known for one of its signature projects, the pixel art collection CryptoCitizens by Qian Qian. These live minting experiences are held in various cities worldwide.

The live open edition minting event, a hallmark of the collaborative series, is scheduled for Thursday, August 24th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM ET. The gathering will occur at Gotham’s prominent two-story retail and gallery space, 3 East 3rd Street, New York, NY 10003.

F1 Dutch Grand Prix Unveils Ticket-Linked Digital Collectibles https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/f1-dutch-grand-prix-unveils-ticket-linked-digital-collectibles/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/f1-dutch-grand-prix-unveils-ticket-linked-digital-collectibles/#respond Thu, 24 Aug 2023 15:58:12 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/f1-dutch-grand-prix-unveils-ticket-linked-digital-collectibles/

As Formula One (F1) fans are getting ready for this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix, which runs from August 25 to 27, attendees will be able to claim a digital collectible directly from their Dutch Grand Prix (Dutch GP) app, according to a press release shared with nft now.

This digital collectible will update in real-time with elements that represent part of the Zandvoort racetrack, in addition to a beautiful ‘Trackside Treasure’ design with visual elements that showcase the uniqueness of this weekend’s upcoming race.

With an anticipated attendance of 100,000+ fans and ticket holders during the Dutch Grand Prix, F1 appears to be gauging ticket holders’ interest in interacting with Web3, without them necessarily knowing they are interacting with a new technology, thanks to ticketing firm GET Protocol.

“With every fan having direct access to their digital collectible, the experience is completely integrated in our already existing digital landscape. With a recently renewed website and [mobile] app, we are giving fans even more to experience. And these collectibles are exclusively for ticket holders,” said Teun Verheij, Head of Marketing at Dutch GP.

How It Works

What makes these digital collectibles different from the many other drops we’ve seen is:

  1. The Zandvoort Grand Prix distribution is directly linked to the issuance of the Dutch GP race ticket.
  1. Every single collectible is individually connected to unique coordinates of the Zandvoort racetrack

This, in effect, allows for each attendee to take home one of the many sections of the track – from the famous ‘Tarzan Corner’ to the strikingly fast Hunse Ridge.

For race attendees, all they have to do is purchase their race ticket through CM.com and then claim their digital collectible in the Dutch GP app, which they should already be familiar with.

Once they log into the app, their collectible will automatically appear in their user profile – and that’s it.

And it’s all done through the native Dutch GP app that ticket holders are already familiar with and comfortable using – common sense that others should have been following previously in the many futile attempts to “onboard” the average person into Web3.

No technical expertise needed. No knowledge of what ‘Web3’ means or what an ‘NFT’ is. Just attend, log in, and enjoy the race.

“We believe new tech should be frictionless & add sustainable value which this integration of our blockchain tooling into the heart of the Dutch GP app showcases. Providing every race fan with a Web3 wallet and a collectible with zero complexity is an achievement I’m proud of and sets a new benchmark for the industry,” says GET Protocol CEO Maarten Bloemers.

The Web3 Strategy

For those who are fairly familiar with the evolution of Web3’s innovations, the behind-the-scenes magic is done through the creation of a ‘custodial wallet’ for every single race attendee. Instead of the user having to manually create or enter their own wallet address, GET Protocol generates a unique collectible on the spot, which is then immediately issued and tied to that attendee’s race ticket.

The ticket provider and event-related application (CM.com) just link their own user ID to the created wallet, which allows for full exploration into sending and receiving digital assets all the way through the token-gated activations setup by the event organizer.

To maximize F1 fans’ experience before, during, and after the race weekend, the distribution strategy consists of:

  1. Unlocking a ‘wrapped’ (hidden image) of their digital collectible in the Dutch GP app once all race tickets are personalized by CM.com.
  1. Revealing their ‘wrapped’ collectible directly from within the Dutch GP app that reveals the artwork and unique race track coordinates, representing a specific part of the track.
  1. Every single digital collectible is updated in real-time on race day (August 27), showing a specific highlight relating to the part of the track that is represented by the unique coordinates they have – from a “stealthy take-over” to the “highest measured speed on that spot.”
  1. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Zanvoordt circuit by choosing 75 race fans who will each receive another unique collectible.

“We are thrilled to facilitate this activation that shows the power of accessible Web3 innovation for mainstream fans. We believe new tech should be frictionless & add sustainable value, which this integration of our blockchain tooling into the heart of the Dutch GP app showcases. Providing every race fan with a Web3 wallet and a collectible with zero complexity is an achievement I’m proud of and sets a new benchmark for the industry,” Bloemers emphasized.

Other F1 Web3-powered initiatives

While this isn’t F1’s first experience in the digital collectibles space, this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix does serve as the international organization’s largest offering of digital collectibles to date – directly to token holders in attendance of an event.

In 2021, Crypto.com became the first official crypto sponsor of F1 in a reported $100 million deal. The company then became an official title partner for F1’s Miami Grand Prix in February 2022 for the next nine years.

McLaren Racing & OKX

In May 2022, McLaren Racing partnered with crypto exchange OKX in a multi-year deal that is reportedly worth “hundreds of millions” of dollars, according to a Blockworks report.

F1’s Crypto Trademarks

Later in 2022, F1 filed a series of crypto-related trademarks for its F1 abbreviation that hints at further Web3 strategies, as we’ve started to see.

Williams Racing

Earlier this month, British F1 team Williams Racing partnered with crypto exchange Kraken that allowed race attendees to submit and vote for a selected list of NFTs that would be displayed on the race cars during the U.S. Grand Prix in October.

F1’s Platinium Group

In May, F1’s primary ticket provider, Platinium Group, partnered with Elemint to issue NFT race tickets on Polygon to attendees of The Monaco Grand Prix.

Oracle Red Bull Racing

In June, Oracle Red Bull Racing, home of fan-favorite driver Max Verstappen, partnered with Web3 infrastructure firm Mysten Labs in a multi-year deal to begin creating new “immersive experiences” for F1 fans and teams.

As for F1’s latest delve into Web3 ahead of the Dutch GP, Verheij says that this launch is part of its “overall approach in tapping into the new world of fan experiences…[w]e love to interact with our fans and with these collectibles we are giving them something extra as a reminder of a fantastic race festival experience.”

Upcoming Drops: August 14 – August 20 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/upcoming-drops-august-14-august-20/ https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/upcoming-drops-august-14-august-20/#respond Mon, 14 Aug 2023 22:27:08 +0000 https://nftandcrypto-news.com/collectibles/upcoming-drops-august-14-august-20/

Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong — the merrier, the more people onboarded into the space. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.

Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we pull together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.

The Boys of Summer by Mitchell F. Chan

Who: Mitchell F. Chan

What: Digital game artwork within a generative PFP sports collection of 999 baseball characters that probe contemporary obsession with quantifying self and challenges our understanding of success.

When: August 16 at 1:30 p.m. ET, with a mint price of 0.12 ETH.

Where: Wild.xyz

Why: The Boys of Summer by Mitchell F. Chan explores three converging currents of contemporary culture – data in crypto, baseball, and the quantification of self through numbers. By creating PFPs, Chan provides an incisive commentary on how we attribute worth to digital art in today’s marketplaces. Baseball’s inherent statistical nature reflects the game’s broader theme of alignment and quantification.

ZTX

Who: ZTX, whose parent company is Zepeto.

What: Genesis Mint comprising 4,000 District Home NFTs usable inside the ZTX platform.

When: Presale (August 8-25) offering up to 2 mints per wallet; OpenSea Mint (August 30)

Where: Presale hosted on Helio, where buyers receive the NFT on Arbitrum after OpenSea public mint concludes. Price is TBD.

Why: The Genesis Mint by ZTX will kick off the development of the ZTX NFT ecosystem, allowing early supporters to collect one of the first-ever ZTX NFTs – District Homes. These in-game assets represent a collector’s actual home inside the ZTX metaverse platform.
