Today, May 24, the prominent global network of art galleries, Gagosian, has announced an innovative new exhibition in collaboration with critically acclaimed multimedia artist Takashi Murakami<\/a>. Entitled Understanding the New Cognitive Domain<\/em>, the exhibition will open on June 10 at the gallery in Le Bourget, France, and focus on Murakami\u2019s monumental paintings while paying homage to his Web3 endeavors.<\/p>\n Although there will undoubtedly be fanfare surrounding what comes as Murakami\u2019s debut exhibition with Gagosian in France, the significance of Understanding the New Cognitive Domain<\/em> lies within the physical works available for viewing. Notably, the renowned Japanese creator will unveil a massive painting inspired by the iwai-maku (stage curtain) he created for the Kabuki-za theater in Tokyo in 2022.<\/p>\n Similarly, Murakami\u2019s 2010 extended-format painting called Dragon in Clouds \u2013 Indigo Blue<\/em> \u2014 which was created in response to Soga Sh\u014dhaku\u2019s famed 1763 masterpiece, Dragon and Clouds <\/em>\u2014 will be on full display adjacent to numerous other paintings, works in smaller formats, and sculptures.<\/p>\n
