Generative artist Tyler Hobbs and Indigo (Team Dandelion) recognized the QQL community on August 30, ahead of QQL’s upcoming 1-year anniversary on September 28.

Since its launch, QQL has marked its presence with remarkable achievements, including the generation of over 30 million images through its platform, and nearly half a million “favorited” ones.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Hobbs is best known for his widely celebrated Fidenza NFT series and of course, his collaborative generative art experiment, QQL, alongside Dandelion Wist. His unique approach melds algorithms, plotters, and paint, resulting in captivating visual artworks that strikes a balance between computational precision and the messy, organic chaos and beauty of the natural world.

What initially began as a thought experiment between Hobbs and Wist on how to best tap into emergence in generative art, turned into something much bigger – the ability for creators and curators to generate art and mint NFTs that celebrate emergence, unpredictability, and happenstance over forced rarity. The project allows co-creators to spend time exploring the customized algorithm, while refining their artistic taste and preferences.

Through QQL’s exhibitions, collaborations, and artistic expressions, the essence of QQL’s algorithm has certainly broken through our general understanding of generative art – from five-foot tall paintings at Pace Gallery in NYC to the innovative Seed Marketplace, where “seeds” can be listed and bought, and most recently, QQL prints.

The online exhibition “QQL: Parametric Expression,” in collaboration with Pace Verso, featured esteemed artists showcasing their parametric artworks alongside emerging talents from the realm of Web3.

Celebrating QQL’s 1-Year Anniversary

As the vibrant and creative QQL community is on the cusp of celebrating QQL’s one-year anniversary, Hobbs and Team Dandelion promise a jubilant affair for QQL’s two upcoming events:
