Micro Bitcoin mining devices \u2014 often open-source and pocket-sized \u2014 have been serving a niche part of the market, offering buyers a fully assembled device or a do-it-yourself-kit to mine Bitcoin (BTC) solo.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Cointelegraph, developers behind these kits admit that buyers won\u2019t likely see much profit but argue that it\u2019s important to fight the \u201csecrecy and exclusivity\u201d of the Bitcoin mining industry. <\/p>\n
One company, BitMaker, recently claimed<\/a> that one could be made for as little as $3, offering an output of 50 kilohashes per second. <\/p>\n
