Polygon Labs announced on Sept. 29 that Google Cloud has joined the Polygon proof-of-stake network as a validator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Google Cloud joins over 100 other validators verifying transactions on its layer-2 Ethereum network. <\/p>\n

\n

This month, @GoogleCloud<\/a> became part of the decentralized validator set for Polygon PoS.<\/p>\n

The same infrastructure used to power @YouTube<\/a> and @gmail<\/a> is now helping to secure the fast, low-cost, Ethereum-for-all Polygon protocol.<\/p>\n

Per a post from Polygon Labs on the X platform (formerlly Twitter) announcing the partnership:<\/p>\n

Validators on the Polygon network help secure the network by operating nodes, staking MATIC (MATIC), and participating in proof-of-stake consensus mechanics. <\/p>\n

The Google Cloud Singapore account confirmed on X that Google Cloud was \u201cnow serving as a validator on the Polygon PoS network,\u201d adding that it would be \u201ccontributing to the network\u2019s collective security, governance, and decentralization alongside 100+ other validators.\u201d<\/p>\n

While many of Polygon\u2019s validators are anonymous, Google Cloud joins Germany\u2019s Deutsche Telekom, one of Europe\u2019s largest telecommunications firms, on the network. <\/p>\n

For its part, Google Cloud describes its relationship with Polygon Labs as \u201can ongoing strategic collaboration.\u201d Alongside the announcement that it would be joining the network as a validator, Google Cloud Asia Pacific also released a YouTube video titled \u201cPolygon Labs is solving for a Web3 future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n
